Default Newbie buys gear....the saga continues...

Earlier I posted regarding advice on Cabela's Genesis combo. Yesterday
I went to Cabelas and decided to move up. Instead of the Genesis combo
I chose a Cabelas LST series rod (9-foot, 6-wt, 4-piece) and a Drake II
reel. Much better action and feel than the Genesis. Also a 25-year
warranty. I felt much better with it. Got all the necessary equipment
and an instructional video. So today between football games I'll study
the video and then head to the river tomorrow to try my hand at casting
and some Guadalupe bass.

I'll keep you all informed.
