Default Stocks reservoir 18/03/05Strange day yesterday

Strange day yesterday. Good forecast, but actual weather bore no
relationship - so it started out normal anyway.

Hiked round to the east bank for a change, and tried the usual
buzzer/diawl bach combinations. Not a touch despite trying various
patterns and all depths from sub-surface to scraping the bottom.

Previous evening I'd tied up a few zonker type monstrousities for sea
and pike fishing. One was constructed out of a new yellow/black barred
fur, which looked ideal for perch fry imitations, and I'd taken one to
Stocks to see how it looked in the water. Cast out and a rainbow
thought it looked fine. Had ten fish on it before the wind eased and
fog lifted, then all went dead.

Back to the buzzers again and nothing - not a fish showing at all, and
no hint of a take.

Walked back to the lodge, and found there's been an enormous hatch of
black buzzers just off the west bank, and fish were taking them like
there was no tomorrow.
In future I'll stick to being lazy, unless the fishery staff lay on a
ferry service.

Cheers

Went today - lazy - straight below lodge in corner - they were pulling
exceeding well on black buxxer until sun came out and more or less
killed it.
I have known the staff ferry people to the east bank if they aren't
busy and there is more than one staff member there. You can always ask
;-)

Fish probably went down deep - try buzzers next time :-)
