Anybody got any good techniques for keeping the little devils from cleaning
the hook off before their bigger brothers can get to it.

Use large cut baits, ,or squid for bait

by the way those little cats are great bait . live, for flat head cats

Squid is an excellent cat fish bait, and tough as hell, it's very hard
for fresh water cats to get off the hook,, I have caught up to 10 cats
on the same piece of bait.

I buy squid in the 3 lb box, thaw it out, and re-bag it, two to the zip
lock bag, then re freeze it. I rarely run out of bait when taking just
two of these squid to fish with. Just cut it to the size you want to
use, and hook it a couple of times

Rodney Long,

Thanks, I'll try that. I get a lot of action on shrimp but they pull that
right off the hook. I've never tried the little cats as bait but I did
catch a 40 lb Flathead last year on a bullhead.

I use chicken gizzards they are hard to get of the hook.
The squid idea sounds good to, I'll have to try that.
