Default Ohio River help: Anyone?

Hi guys. I have my Kentucky BASS Federation State Championship
comming up next month. A two day tournament.

I need to make it in the top 13 out of 102.

Launch site it Carrollton, Ky. This is near the Markland dam, the
northern part of KY, borders with Indiana.

I have fished this water before, a few years back. But, never liked it
and don't do real well there.

This is a 12" size limit, but it usually doesn't take much to win.
Most times it's hard to catch a small limit.

I of course will pre-fish it prior to tournament date.

ANY help you may have would be appreciated!

Thanks,

Justin Hires

Default Ohio River help: Anyone?

Our club was going to fish there last week, but thanks to the remnants of
Frances, we moved to another water.

Last year we fished the pool upstream of the Markland dam out of Bryant's
Creek. The river had just returned to normal levels from a flood and was still
quite dirty, even back in the creeks.

My partner and I managed a few fish out of creeks on the Kentucky and Indiana
sides. We were pitching small jigs and small plastics into wood cover close to
the bank or on large buzzbaits on very shallow wood. Some other guys did well
on tubes, small spinnerbaits and shallow crankbaits in the wood as well.

I do not remember the names of all the creeks I was fishing, but one on the
Kentucky side is just east of the dam and has a large marina in it. Two oof
the creeks I was in in Indiana were Turtle and Bryants.

Good luck!
