Fish Fryer
I plan to purchase a propane fish fryer. I see the King Kooker Portable
Propane Double Burner Cooker on Amazon for about $75 but they don't give the BTU rating, they just say it has high-BTU cast burners. Does this mean an output in the 160,000 BTU range? Does anybody have any other suggestions for a two burner fish fryer? Thanks in advance for any help you can give. Craig |

Craig Take a look at Cabelas and Bass Pro Shop web sites. They have tons of this type of stuff. Don't forget you can use a turkey fryer as a fish fryer with a smaller pan and basket and have the best of both worlds. If you have never tasted deep fried turkey you will be amazed at what you have been missing. Jerry |

Fish Fryer
I do not have a suggestion on a good fish fryer. The fish/turkey
fryers seem to be very similar. Many models will probably suit you fine. I do have a very important tip for you though! Plan on what to do if you have a boil over! I have a propane fryer. I followed the directions carefully. However, the first time I used it the oil suprised me by being much too high once food had been inserted. If I had been in a kitchen instead of on the back porch I could have easily handled the situation. However, I found myself balancing the fryer tray in one hand and scooping oil out with a pot in the other. Thank goodness for the pot. There was no place to put the oil so I resorted to cooking the nearest flower bed! I was in a near panic when I saw the first rush of peanut oil drip down the fryer toward the propane flame. Had I put some forthought into this I would have grabbed an old paint can, etc., to put oil in. Back to the subject of buying your own: I have noticed that more and more places seem to be carrying propane fryers. As a result the prices seem competitive (as well as the actual size of the fryer). So, maybe shop around a little. Despite the "open" flame on the fryer I have been suprised at how long my propane tanks have lasted. Good luck! *************** Check out this fishing DVD: Reel Adventures: Baja California http://www.tk-prod.com/reeladventures Playmate Crystal Smith and entertainer Rebel Bonham bring you the first-hand thrill of deep sea fishing.
