Would you have to tie in the hooks backwards in the

don't the hooks get magnetized?


I know of one person that polishes the varnish off the hooks and dips
them in brine before tying. This starts a bit of rust which some say
mimics the electrical field of a bug in the water. He says it works.
I've tried it and got a rusty fly box out of the deal.
