Default seeking Adirondacks fishing advice (will consider other regions)

Hello, I would like to plan a fishing trip in the Adirondack region of
New York for mid-August. I have a canoe with a trolling motor, and I
prefer lakes that are not available to water skiers and swimmers. I
actually like the lesser known lakes that have a fair amount of tree
stumps, lilly pads, etc. For accomodations, a small cabin will be fine.
I have heard good things about the Long Lake area, would you recommend
it? Also, I'm open to other regions of New York state if they are
superior to the Adirondack region. Many thanks for you feedback.

Sam
