Default Madison River cabins

All,
I got a letter from the Madison River cabins today. That's the one with
combo cabins, campground and grocery store on the left as you went
towards Ennis from Slide Inn. It's where Gene C and Frank jr and I
stayed for a few days last year during the Western Clave. Nice place,
friendly clean and decent fishing right below it.

Anyway they are closing all ten cabins immediately and refunding folks
money for the deposits and may be turning it into a small conference
center. They still have the two large cabins available (big $$$) and the
campground. Given how hard it is to get reservations in the area in that
June timeframe this will surely **** some folks off!

wonder what's happening in the area? last year, joe and i discovered
that the restaurant we'd enjoyed the year before was closed. it had
great bbq pork ribs...i mean, not just good...great! looked like it was
doing good business too when we were there. that's a long stretch of
road between ennis and west yellowstone...the loss of one of the few
good watering holes and waypoints will be missed.

That's the place with the restaurant that shut down...i note from the
web site it's scheduled to reopen this year. I liked the restaurant...
didn't notice the cabins as it was night and we'd had a snort or
two...looking forward to sampling the food there this year.

Holy smokes! Outrageous prices for the RV spots....
http://www.madmoonresort.com/rvspaces.htm

If you are RV'ing it and want a good place to stay check out Valley
View RV at www.valleyviewrv.com which is located between Island Park,
ID and West Yellowstone. Close to Henry's Fork, Yellowstone NP,
Madison River, etc. It's "across the street" from Henry's Lake.
Daily RV rates are less than $20/day compared with $35/45.00 at
Howlin' Mad Moon Resort. No wonder folks are "howlin'" ; )
