This is an Al Troth fly (actually tied by Al) tied (I think)
specifically for night fishing on the Beaverhead.
This is a big fly, tied on a #6 or #8 Atlantic salmon hook.
I borrowed this fly from a friend.........I'll have a few dozen
more to show in the weeks to come, including originals
by quite a few other tiers as well.

I'll post the links here, as they dribble out from my light tent.

this is proving to be a very nice idea for your site, Sandy.

I used to have some flies tied by Polly Rosborough that I would have mailed
you to include, but I went looking and can't find them anywhere
:-( ...if I ever do, I'll let you know

Maybe I fished with em and used them up, it's been a lot of years since I
got them, and I got them to fish, not collect.

Anyway, I think the "flies as tied by the originator" is a damn fine idea
.... keep up the good work

Thank you Larry:

I need to put the following on the website:
"If you have something interesting, talk to me about it. If you send
me flies,
I won't keep them. I'll take *very* good care of them, photograph them
and send them back."

I've got some flies now (the Three River's Special) tied by Elwood
"Woody" Colmes,
who had the first Ennis Montana fly shop way back when...I'm not
exactly sure when.
But these are flies actually tied by Woody. And they aren't mine.
I'll keep them
for a week or two and then send them back. That's a promise to all.

If anybody has more information about Woody Colmes, that wood be
helpful too.
