OT - Voting record .. a question for you well informed politics arguers

Frank Reid According to the site you cited, he has voted with the GOP 93.4% this Congress - I didn't see anything about "this year." Also, according to the site, the only "100%" voters are 4 Dems. And if you consider the percentage of voting with the party to be a (the?) sign of "party hack-ism," the upper tiers are literally all Dem - you've got to scroll down a fair bit to find GOP members, and even then, it's sparse until you get into the mid-to-low 90s (where you start finding moderate and conservative Dems as well, as well as those in "at risk" districts). I'd offer that given the bloated size of many bills, relying on party info is to a large extent a necessity. Not exactly picking on Pelosi with this as the GOP pulls similar (although she did pointedly NOT allow public posting, etc.), but the "health care" bill is a perfect example - 2000 pages, a rushed late-night weekend vote on a controversial, complex issue that damned few in or out of Congress really understand, etc., all add up to folks more-or-less "toeing the party line." And if you're serious about wanting REAL health-care reform, you need to be bitching more at Dems than the GOP as long as they are in control (and whenever it shifts again, and it will, that is when you need to bitch at the GOP) - this thing in the House was little more than a political stunt in which both parties participated - they knew damned well that the Senate wasn't gonna let this mess through, so everyone got 'em a little something to talk about back at home, and as per usual, nothing too hard or controversial actually has to be done.
