Baitcasting handed-ness
Dont be confused at all!! You cast and work the rod with your right hand and
reel with your left. I've been doing the same thing since I was three years old. Buy a left handed baitcasting reel, many models are availible. As for griping the rod/reel, Persoanlly as a long time trout fisherman and recent bass fisherman, I find ONE AND ONLY ONE way to grip a rod. I cast, work the lure, fight fish, everything with out ever changeing my grip on the rod. When i find that certain way to grip the rod and dont change it, the rod becomes a natural extension of my arm and I feel that I can cast farther and more accuratly, and have better feel work working the lure. -Zimmy |

Baitcasting handed-ness
Or... you can switch hands during the cast. If you have your reel set up
properly... it shouldn't create any problem. -- Visit Charles at: www.thebasspro.net www.secretweaponlures.com www.outdoorfrontiers.com www.midtennclassic.org "alwayfishking" wrote in message ... I reel with my left hand only, baitcasters and spinning rods. Seems to me that if you reel lefty with a spinning rod that you would have no proble reeling left handed with a baitcaster. That whole switching hands thing will cost you a fish some day. It will be the one that you didn't want to get away but did. JMO Randy- "BassMr." wrote in message news Another point too is that normally your sense of feel would seem better in your dominant hand.So if you are right handed wouldn't you want the rod to be in your hand rather than the crank? I have seen more than a few people miss a fish as soon as the lure hits the water while they are changing hands.Makes no sense. |
