What's your favorite fly fishing book?
"George Cleveland" wrote in message ... On Mon, 5 Apr 2004 19:27:06 -0500, "Wolfgang" Anyone ever tried to fly cast in the days immediately after having their gall bladder removed? Undoubtedly. What was it like. Presumably, better than having one's gall bladder removed and not fishing. Mines coming out on the19th (free to a good home) Hm......fixed or fresh (it DOES make a difference, you know)? and I'll be off work for a couple of weeks. Would hate to spend all my recuperation time sitting in front of my computer monitor. Well the 24th is a Saturday.......5 days.......hm.......that should be about long enough for sutures, ainna? I'll bring some ethanol, scissors, forceps, swabs, bandages, and more ethanol! Wolfgang dr. howard, dr. fine, dr. howard........ |

Give me several days notice. Well, looks like Georgie is going to be recovering from surgery on the 24th.......should be weak enough that even you and I can beat the **** out of him if he misbehaves. Whattya think? Wolfgang oh, and tell margaret we send our love and best wishes. I'll send your good wishes to Margaret. Thanks. She's back and doing well. Keep your pipe wrench handy! Um.......uh......well, we were hoping she was doing even better than that, but......well, o.k. Wolfgang wondering if he'll need the duct tape too. |

What's your favorite fly fishing book?
Kevin Vang wrote: In article , says... Anyone got a favorite book which explains tippets, knots, casting ideas, etc? When I was a 14 year old, give or take, myownself, I spent hours and hours reading "Trout Fishing" by Joe Brooks. It's still probably as good a primer on trout fishing as any. It's out of print now, but I just checked Amazon and they have used editions starting at $2.88. If that ain't a bargain, I've never seen one. I reread it about a year ago. Good book. There's good stuff in there including things that have gotten old enough that they're "new" again. Willi |

If they do it with the laproscope, should be fine in a couple of days, if they have to do it the old fashioned way, that lower side is gonna be sore for a while and you will tire easily. Wish I could join y'all. |

Any literary book, something by Rod Haig-Brown, Robert Traver or the like, would be better to peak his interest than any technical book. You can't really learn fly fishing from a book. Hell, I can't learn it any other way either. Good luck to both of you. Thanks. Meant to call you weekend before last. We finally got down to TJ's but it was a last minute thing.....zoomed down.....left a lot of money.....and zoomed back home. Two days ago, the plumbing problem manifested itself once again......to the tune of $550 this time. I think I need to go fishing. What's your schedule look like for the next couple of weeks? I had the old fashioned way, big cut, ugly scar sort. No problem. I was home in 3 days. The first patient to be less than a week at that time. Now it's the norm even for the elderly (I was about 40 something then). I would have been able to wander around and fly fish if I were very careful as soon as they let me loose. If you have the new surgery, you should be able to be out or the house and behaving normally by day three. If it hurts, stop doing it. If you're tired, rest. When I had mine done a month off work was the minimum time. I was bored out of my mind. -- rbc:vixen,Minnow Goddess,Willow Watcher, and all that sort of thing. Often taunted by trout.
