But, just as a tidbit of information: In Wisconsin, a federal judge has ruled
that the local Indian tribe (forget their name) can use shotguns to take pike
during spring spawning.

I can't image taking a fish either way. Not only does it take the fun away, make noise that
will scare others away but blow the sh!t out of the fish body.

Actually, unless the fish is awfully shallow, the shock wave from the bullet
hitting the water stuns or kills them without any visible injury.

Last time I went fishing,, actually every time I go fishing a gun goes
with me,, not just with me, but with at least 1/2 of the fishermen I
know pack a gun fishing,,

There are many areas where a rifle will be necessary where a Kodiak or Polar Bear may be
your "last" view.

Sorry I must have misunderstood,, I was under the impression that you
were saying that Kerry's plan to outlaw "All" guns "eventually" was off
topic to a fishing group.


It is very on topic to many fishermen who always carry a gun,, or always
carry one when going fishing

By the way, it is legal to shoot fish (non game fish) with a gun in one
New England state.
