Atlantic Salmon are intensively farmed in Tasmania (some escape) and
brood stock are sometimes deliberately released for anglers. They
don't naturally reproduce in the wild AFAIK.

Whoever put together the web site probably wasn't an angler and got
the photos mixed up.


You're spot on. I found an older version of that website, and the
picture DID show a landlocked AS, and another cation for the picture
shown, referencing a 'big brownie'. Someone ought to get on the
current version, though.

Looking at an Oz trip in late June. Unfortunately, the stream season
is closed, but I can do some sal****er casting. More to come.
